The 2021 Black Hills Retreat is just around the corner, and we are excited to introduce you to the industry experts who will be presenting at the retreat! Kicking off the education session on Thursday, July 29th are Mike Martin and Tom Caruthers from Eide Bailly. In their presentation “What you don’t know that you need to know”, Mike and Tom will focus on strategic tips and tricks to maximize the value of your next technology evaluation or contract re-negotiation project.
About Mike, Director of Consulting & Contract Management:
Mike joined Eide Bailly in the fall of 2019 and brings many years of financial industry experience with him. He is the Director of Consulting and Contract Management and works primarily in the financial industry, providing technology review, analysis and contract negotiation services. Mike has extensive experience working with banks and credit unions ranging in size from de novo to multi-billion in assets.
When Mike works with a client on a full technology evaluation or a product replacement project, his knowledge and enthusiasm brings extra aspects to the client. He is able to communicate consistently and accurately, all while educating the client on current and emerging trends in the financial institution market. Mike strives to work strategically with clients to maximize the value of their technology partner relationships.
When he’s not in the office or traveling for work, Mike enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons and their black lab. When the weather is nice (and sometimes not so nice), he enjoys the outdoors while golfing, hunting, fishing or playing sports with his kids!
Mike’s client work: Facilitated contract negotiations for multi holding company financial institutions that led to millions of bottom line savings, provided consultative leadership for several de novo banking organizations to help procure their technology services partnerships, facilitated numerous successful software selection, requirements gathering and vendor system evaluations for financial institutions ranging from de novo to multi-billion in assets.

Tom joined Eide Bailly in 2019, bringing decades of banking and industry leading technology services experience with him. He is the Director of Consulting and Contract Management and works primarily with clients in the financial industry, providing technology review, analysis and contract negotiation services. Tom has extensive experience working with banking and credit union clients ranging from de novo to multi-billion in assets.
When you work with Tom, you can expect consistent, authentic and accurate communication on advising current and emerging trends in the financial institution market. Utilizing his unique combination of experience and industry knowledge, Tom strategically collaborates with clients to maximize the value of their technology partner relationships.
When he’s not in the office working with clients, Tom loves spending as much of his free time with his family. Tom is an avid outdoorsman enjoying golfing, hunting, fishing and volunteering in his community.
