#1. ICBSD members did it again! You filled the entire Sylvan Lake Resort facility, while participating in another very successful Annual Retreat! Our attendance numbers were wonderful, along with numerous highlights: White House memories with featured speaker, Steve Ford (son of Gerald/Betty Ford), the Black Hills Playhouse performance of “Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,” golfing at Red Rock Golf Course, a great Blue Bell Trail ride, successful PAC Auction and fund-raising and the closing campfire gathering. In addition, the real benefit was the industry presentations and the continual networking that takes place, among community bankers, with their peers and associate members. #2. Please extend a personal Thank You to all of the sponsors, speakers and community bankers, who are responsible for the continued success of our Retreat, which continues to grow every year. You will find them highlighted in the August newsletter, along with a pictorial review. #3. We hope you are planning to join us on October 29 - 30 in Sioux Falls for our first ever combined Trade Show and CEO/Directors’ Conference. Registration information has been mailed to all members and can again be found in the August newsletter. It is hoped that it will prove to be very convenient for our member banks, and associates, to attend both events, at the same time, #4. Lodging for the Trade Show/Directors’ Conference can be reserved by calling the Sioux Falls Best Western, at 605-336-0650. There are rooms available, under ICBSD, for both 10/28 and 10/29. #5. Our entire membership should have already received the registration forms for our fourth Career Day, which will be on the Dakota State University campus, on September 30th. Please let me know of any assistance your bank may need to make this quality experience easier, and more meaningful, for your high school students. #6. Your Board of Directors is very pleased in knowing that ICBSD’s State PAC account currently contains over $20,000, which will soon be disbursed to state legislative candidates. If any of our bank membership, has a request for supporting a candidate in your area, please do contact me at your earliest convenience. #7. As noted in the August newsletter, ICBSD’s Board of Directors has won the PAC Challenge, with our counterparts from North Dakota, whereby every board member contributed a minimum of a $100 item for our Retreat PAC Silent Auction (which does not count any purchases they made), while also contributing a minimum of $100 to ICBA’s PAC. How about extending this PAC participation throughout our entire bank membership? The real winner will be your own bank!! |
